Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the collective insight of prediction market participants. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information, especially in response to breaking news or late-developing trends surrounding the Smith vs de Zwaan match.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants and provides a real-time assessment of expectations for the Smith vs de Zwaan match.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market before Nov 5, 2026. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly impact expectations. For example, reports of a minor injury to Michael Smith or a strong performance by Jeffrey de Zwaan in a preceding match could shift the odds.
