This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the final quarter of an upcoming college football game. It tracks the performance of each team specifically in the last 15 minutes of regulation play, excluding any overtime periods. The outcome depends solely on who leads the scoring chart in that designated timeframe.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Pittsburgh vs Miami (FL) college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Miami (FL) has the higher point total in that quarter, the Miami (FL) market resolves to Yes. If Pittsburgh has the higher point total, the Pittsburgh market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points in the 4th quarter, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the 4th quarter of regulation play count; overtime points are excluded. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original scheduled time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their money behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or breaking news. Examining these differences can reveal insights into public sentiment and potentially identify undervalued opportunities, though it’s important to remember both represent probabilities of an outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning traders are constantly buying and selling contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the aggregated beliefs of all traders on Kalshi, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely winner of the 4th quarter.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the 4th quarter will be declared the winner. The resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not. This ensures a clear and objective determination of the market’s outcome.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Pittsburgh or Miami (FL) teams would likely cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected changes in team strategy or coaching decisions could also influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first three quarters could provide valuable information, leading to adjustments in the perceived probabilities. Even external factors like weather conditions, if severe enough to impact gameplay, could contribute to market movement.
