This market focuses on determining which team will score more points specifically in the third quarter of an upcoming college football game between Pittsburgh and Miami (FL). It provides a way to speculate on short-term in-game performance rather than the overall game outcome.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the third quarter of the designated college football game. If Miami (FL) has the higher third-quarter point total, that market resolves to Yes. If Pittsburgh has the higher third-quarter point total, that market resolves to Yes. If both teams score exactly the same number of points in the third quarter, the Tie market resolves to Yes. All outcomes remain active if the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time. If the game fails to start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the third quarter count toward resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. If there’s a significant discrepancy, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be perfectly accurate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of victory. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information and opinions are incorporated, providing a real-time assessment of the likely winner of the third quarter. Traders can set their own buy and sell orders, influencing the price discovery process.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team has the higher score at the end of the third quarter of the Pittsburgh vs Miami game. The final score will be verified against official game statistics and reporting. The resolution is based on the official result as recorded by the league and is not subject to individual interpretation or debate. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in their account balances following verification.
Several factors could influence trading in this market before resolution. News regarding player injuries to key players on either the Pittsburgh or Miami teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team performance during the first half of the game, or even pre-game reports on team strategy, could also shift market sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions, if they affect the game, might also be considered by traders. Any significant information that alters the perceived probability of either team winning the third quarter could lead to price movements in this market.
