Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, incorporating a 'vig' or commission. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. As a result, prediction markets can sometimes provide more accurate forecasts, especially when there's disagreement between the crowd and the sportsbook. It's worth comparing the implied probabilities from both sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes of the Pitsyk vs. Derevynskyi match, and the price of these shares reflects the market's belief about the probability of each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is determined by supply and demand – if more people believe Pitsyk will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the latest information and insights from traders.

This market resolves around Oct 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official result of the Pitsyk vs. Derevynskyi match, as declared by the relevant sporting authority, will determine the winning outcome. Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before the Oct 14, 2026 resolution. News regarding fighter injuries, changes in training regimes, or even pre-fight press conference statements could all shift trader sentiment.
