Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by individuals trading on their own insights. If a significant number of people believe a hole-in-one is more or less likely than implied by sportsbook odds, you’ll see the price on Polymarket adjust accordingly. This can sometimes lead to prediction markets being more accurate than traditional odds, especially when there's strong public sentiment.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a hole-in-one will be made at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. As more people buy shares, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market, and it fluctuates based on supply and demand for shares.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether a hole-in-one is officially recorded during the Butterfield Bermuda Championship tournament. The official tournament results will be the basis for determining the outcome of this market. Any hole-in-one made during a playoff hole will also be counted towards resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding the course conditions at Port Royal Golf Club, particularly if they are known to be challenging or conducive to hole-in-ones, could shift trader sentiment. The performance of players known for their accuracy with irons, or any announcements about changes to the tournament format, could also impact trading activity. Unexpected weather conditions during the tournament, such as strong winds or heavy rain, could also move this market.
