Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from expert analysis. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially closer to the event date, as more information becomes available and is incorporated into the price.
