Description

In the upcoming NHL game, scheduled for April 29 at 7:30PM ET: If the Penguins win, the market will resolve to "Penguins". If the Flyers win, the market will resolve to "Flyers". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve 50-50. The result will be determined based on the final score including any overtime periods and shootouts. In the event of a shootout, one goal will be added to the winning team's score for the purpose of resolution.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

All platforms apply identical final-score logic (including overtime/shootout adjustments) and identical postponement/cancellation protocols; Kalshi's overtime binary is a separate market type, not a divergence.

Primary resolution logic:

Official NHL.com final score; shootout goal addition per platform rules

Core resolution logic:

  • Final score includes all regulation, overtime, and shootout periods
  • In shootout scenarios, one goal is added to the winning team's score for resolution purposes
  • Moneyline resolves to the team with the higher final score
  • Spread (Flyers -1.5) resolves to Flyers if they win by 2+ goals, otherwise Penguins
  • Over/Under markets resolve based on combined goals: O/U 4.5 at 5+, O/U 5.5 at 6+, O/U 6.5 at 7+, O/U 7.5 at 8+
  • Kalshi overtime market resolves Yes if game reaches overtime, No if decided in regulation
  • If game is postponed, all markets remain open until game is completed
  • If game is canceled with no makeup, all markets resolve 50-50

Edge cases & Clarifications:

  • Shootout Resolution: One goal is artificially added to the winning team's score for settlement purposes only; this affects over/under totals and spread calculations
  • Postponement: Markets stay open and do not resolve until the rescheduled game is completed
  • Total Cancellation: If the game is canceled entirely with no makeup game scheduled, all markets resolve 50-50 (split pool)
  • Kalshi Overtime Independence: Kalshi's overtime market is binary (Yes/No) and independent of final outcome; it resolves Yes if the game reaches any overtime period, regardless of which team wins

Timing:

Resolution occurs immediately after the final score is official on NHL.com, including any overtime or shootout conclusion. Kalshi overtime market resolves as soon as the game outcome (regulation or overtime) is determined.
