Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks may set odds based on pre-match analysis and public perception, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially uncovering information not yet priced in by bookmakers. Over time, the odds on Polymarket may converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and the event draws nearer. However, discrepancies can persist if traders have access to unique insights or disagree with the sportsbook’s assessment of the likely outcome.
