Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to different probabilities. If many people believe a specific score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts, offering opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact score outcomes, and the price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a specific score, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that result. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adapt to new information and trader sentiment, creating a real-time forecast of the match's final score.
