On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction, while Kalshi uses a different mechanism for determining probabilities. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. This means that differing user bases, trading strategies, and market liquidity can all contribute to price discrepancies. Furthermore, each platform may attract different types of traders – some more focused on short-term speculation, others on longer-term predictions. These variations can lead to differing assessments of the likelihood of various outcomes in the Patriots-Jaguars game, even though they are tracking the same event.
