Prediction market odds, like those seen on Polymarket and Predict, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the incentives of participants. Sportsbooks aim to profit by setting lines that attract balanced betting, while prediction market traders are incentivized to express their genuine beliefs about the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate, especially when significant information isn't yet reflected in sportsbook lines. While sportsbooks may adjust odds based on betting patterns, this market reflects a continuous flow of information and opinions from a diverse group of participants, potentially offering a more nuanced view of the event’s probability.
