Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, represents the collective beliefs of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it could indicate an opportunity for value betting, where one side is perceived as mispriced by the market. It's important to note that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently incorporates new information as it becomes available, leading to dynamic price adjustments. This creates a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each competitor winning the Parahailo vs. Shchegelskyi match, based on the aggregated judgment of market participants.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Parahailo vs. Shchegelskyi match, as determined by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against publicly available and trustworthy sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final outcome. The resolution process is designed to be objective and based on verifiable data.
