Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders on Polymarket, aims to represent the true probability of each outcome, though biases can still exist. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market evolves as more information becomes available and more people participate, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than initial sportsbook lines. It’s valuable to compare both to form a well-rounded view.
