Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook has mispriced an outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially driving the prediction market price closer to what they perceive as the true probability. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of real-world information becomes available.
