Prices on Polymarket and Opinion can diverge for several reasons. Polymarket and Opinion can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading dynamics, and risk tolerance, which influence price discovery. For example, Polymarket might attract more sophisticated traders, leading to prices that reflect more nuanced analysis, while Opinion could have a broader audience with different perspectives. Additionally, differing liquidity—the amount of volume available—can also contribute to price discrepancies. These factors create unique market conditions on each platform, even for the same event.
