Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing promotions or biases, while this market relies on individuals directly expressing their beliefs through trading. If sportsbook odds significantly diverge from the probabilities shown here, it could indicate a potential opportunity for informed traders. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome and are subject to change as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where participants buy and sell shares representing different exact scorelines. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The market’s efficiency depends on the volume of trading and the diversity of opinions represented among traders.
