This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of such scores during the match.
These markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Oregon or Illinois in their college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. A receiving touchdown is counted when a player catches a forward pass and scores in the end zone, including instances where the player recovers their own fumble and scores. Touchdowns scored by other players after recovering a fumble by the intended receiver do not count. All receiving touchdowns, including those scored in overtime periods, are included in the total. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from the count. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original start time, the markets remain active and resolve according to the final official result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, the markets will resolve to a fair price. The markets are independent of any official NCAA affiliations, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the collective belief of informed traders. Typically, prediction markets can be more accurate than traditional point spreads, especially when considering the 'wisdom of the crowd.' However, sportsbook odds are readily available and provide a useful benchmark for comparison, though they are shaped by different incentives than those driving activity in this market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team scoring touchdowns. The current price indicates what percentage of the event's outcome is already 'priced in' by the market.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on which teams are confirmed to have scored touchdowns during the Oregon vs Illinois game. The official game statistics will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in the market's settlement details following the conclusion of the game and official verification.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oregon or Illinois would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to a run-heavy offense (potentially increasing touchdown opportunities), could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any shifts in public perception or expert analysis regarding the teams' offensive capabilities could drive changes in the market's price as traders adjust their predictions.
