These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the fourth quarter of a college football game, with different thresholds determining the outcome. Each market has a specific point threshold that must be exceeded for the outcome to be considered a success.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams specifically during the fourth quarter of the Oregon St. vs Fresno St. college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026, excluding any points scored in overtime. Each market has a unique threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points); if the combined fourth-quarter points exceed the respective threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. No points from overtime or other quarters contribute to any market outcome.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. Polls and analysts currently predict a range of potential point totals for the 4th quarter, but this market provides a real-money incentive for accurate forecasting, potentially leading to more insightful predictions than those derived from surveys or expert opinions alone. It’s a direct measure of what people believe will happen, backed by financial stakes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the final 4th quarter total. As more people buy contracts predicting a higher total, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the probability of that specific outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and collective intelligence of traders.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 4th quarter of the Oregon State vs Fresno State game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will be the determining factor, and the market will settle based on that verified result. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual total will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Oregon State or Fresno State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis or pre-game reports, could influence trading activity and alter the price of contracts in this market. Game-day performance during the first three quarters will also play a role.
