These markets track how many points each team scores in a specific college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the number of points a team must exceed for the bet to pay out.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals for Oregon State and Colorado State in their game scheduled for October 3, 2026. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, all markets remain open and resolve using the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each individual market has a specific point threshold that must be exceeded by a team's final score for that market to resolve to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No.' The thresholds vary from 13.5 to 54.5 points for each team, creating multiple possible outcomes depending on the game's final score.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, whereas this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of different outcomes. While sportsbooks may initially offer lines based on statistical models, this market can quickly incorporate new information and adjust prices as more traders participate. Discrepancies can arise due to varying levels of information and analytical approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible team total point ranges for the Oregon State and Colorado State game. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently aggregate information and provide a real-time assessment of the expected team totals.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team totals from the Oregon State versus Colorado State game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official statistics recorded by the governing body of the sport. The final score will be used to determine which contracts payout, based on the team total point ranges established within this market. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct team total ranges will receive a payout.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game takes place. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Oregon State or Colorado State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to high or low scoring, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions, or even significant shifts in public sentiment reflected in other sources, could all contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
