Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own research and insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can buy into that outcome on Polymarket, driving up the price and bringing it closer to what they perceive as the true probability. This dynamic can lead to more accurate predictions, though discrepancies can still occur.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team, if any, scores the first goal in the first half of the Olympique de Marseille versus Le Havre AC match. If neither team scores during the first 45 minutes (plus any added time), the 'Neither team to score first' outcome will be considered the result. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Olympique de Marseille or Le Havre AC would likely cause shifts in the odds. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also impact the market. Unexpected weather conditions on match day, or even significant pre-match analysis from respected football commentators, could sway trader sentiment. Furthermore, any large-volume trades on Polymarket could indicate informed activity and trigger further price movements in this market.
