This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the match.
These markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Ole Miss or Texas in their college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. A receiving touchdown is counted when a player catches a forward pass and scores in the end zone, including those occurring in overtime periods. Touchdowns resulting from fumble recoveries by another player do not count, unless the receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, it proceeds normally. If the game does not start within this window, the markets resolve to a fair price. All markets are independent, each corresponding to a specific threshold (2+, 3+, or 4+) of receiving touchdowns for each team.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome, leading to prices that may be more reflective of the true probability. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of each type of market. It's common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. As more traders buy a contract, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current top outcome, according to the market, is Texas with 4+ receiving touchdowns, though the exact chance percentage is not currently displayed. Traders are actively setting the prices based on their own analysis and expectations for the game.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the final number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Ole Miss vs Texas game will be used to determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be determined independently of the platform. The outcome will be verified against credible public sources to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Ole Miss or Texas, particularly wide receivers or quarterbacks, would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, especially if they suggest a game heavily focused on running plays, could also shift expectations. Furthermore, any late-breaking analysis from sports analysts or updated team practice reports could influence trader sentiment and cause the market to react. Public betting patterns and shifts in sportsbook odds may also play a role in how this market evolves.
