This market focuses on predicting which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game. It reflects the competitive performance of the teams in the initial segment of the match, providing insight into early-game momentum.
The market resolves based on the first-half performance of Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina in their game scheduled for November 7, 2026. If either team leads at the end of the first half, the respective market resolves to Yes. If the game ends in a tie at the half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. Postponements are accounted for: if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains active and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Points scored only during the first half count toward the outcome.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. These differences can present opportunities for informed traders who believe the market has mispriced an outcome relative to their own assessment or compared to what traditional sportsbooks are offering.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether Old Dominion will win the first half. As more traders buy shares of a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of a share directly translates to the implied probability of that outcome, allowing traders to express their views and profit if their predictions prove accurate. The market dynamically adjusts to incorporate new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the result of which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Old Dominion vs Coastal Carolina game will determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and data, ensuring a transparent and objective determination of the result. Traders will be able to view the final outcome and settlement details on Kalshi following the event’s completion.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about team lineups or key player availability would likely have a significant impact. Furthermore, early game performance in other related contests or shifts in public perception based on pre-game analysis could also contribute to price movements. Monitoring these signals can help traders identify potential opportunities and adjust their positions accordingly.
