This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Oklahoma and Mississippi State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the designated game. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Points from overtime periods are excluded from all calculations.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own models and risk assessment, while this market’s odds are driven by the collective predictions of traders. It's common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information, such as late-breaking news about player injuries or weather conditions. However, sportsbook odds are still a useful point of comparison when evaluating the potential value in this market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the actual total points scored in the 4th quarter will be over or under the specified line. The price of these contracts represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price will fluctuate, providing a real-time assessment of the likely outcome. The current price reflects the aggregated beliefs of all traders on the Kalshi exchange.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the Oklahoma vs Mississippi State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the fourth quarter will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contract wins. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the source for the final result. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could significantly impact the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma or Mississippi State would likely cause movement, as would changes in weather forecasts that could affect the game's scoring pace. Significant line movements in traditional sportsbooks could also influence trading activity. Finally, as the game progresses and early scoring trends emerge, the market will react quickly to adjust the probabilities, potentially leading to substantial price swings before this market resolves.
