These markets track the performance of Oklahoma and Mississippi State in the second half of their college football game, focusing on the point differential needed for resolution. Each market corresponds to a specific point margin threshold that must be exceeded by either team during the second half, including any overtime periods.
The markets resolve based on the point differential in the second half (including overtime) of the designated college football game between Oklahoma and Mississippi State. For Oklahoma markets, resolution occurs if Oklahoma wins the second half by more than the specified margin (ranging from 2.5 to 20.5 points). For Mississippi State markets, resolution occurs if Mississippi State wins the second half by more than the specified margin (ranging from 2.5 to 17.5 points). Only points scored during the second half and overtime count toward these markets. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own information and beliefs. This can lead to differences in perceived probabilities and line movements. It’s common to see this market incorporate information and react to news faster than traditional sportsbooks, potentially offering different value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders believe Oklahoma will cover a certain spread, the price of contracts representing that outcome will increase. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions, leading to dynamic price movements based on new information and changing expectations about the game’s outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the second half of the Oklahoma vs Mississippi State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the governing body for college football, ensuring an objective and transparent determination of the winning spread. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout of 100, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will not.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any significant news regarding player injuries to key players on either Oklahoma or Mississippi State would likely cause movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to one team's style of play, could also impact trading activity. Additionally, in-game performance during the first half, even if not directly affecting the second-half spread, might shift trader sentiment and drive price adjustments in this market.
