These markets track how many points each team scores in a specific college football matchup. Each market corresponds to a different scoring threshold, allowing participants to bet on whether a team's performance will exceed various point totals.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals of Iowa State and Oklahoma State in their college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the designated threshold points, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants under these contingency conditions.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which may be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Examining the differences between this market and sportsbook lines can reveal insights into public sentiment and potential value opportunities for informed traders. These differences can also change rapidly as new information becomes available.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event's potential results. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and capitalizing on price discrepancies. The market's efficiency is driven by the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final team totals for both Oklahoma St. and Iowa St. will be sourced from official game statistics. The market will settle based on the actual team totals achieved during the game, as determined by the official scorekeepers. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct team totals will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will not. The resolution process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the results.
Several factors could influence this market leading up to and during the game. Any news regarding key player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or significant weather forecasts could all shift trader sentiment. In-game developments, such as early scoring drives or unexpected turnovers, will also likely cause rapid price movements. Public perception and media coverage can also play a role, particularly if there's a sudden shift in expectations. Monitoring these signals and events will be crucial for traders looking to capitalize on opportunities as they arise before this market resolves.
