This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Oklahoma St. vs Iowa St. college football game scheduled for Oct 31, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) count toward resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds to balance action and ensure profit, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their money behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe the actual total points scored will be higher or lower than the sportsbook’s initial offering, the odds on Kalshi will adjust accordingly. This can provide a valuable signal, as prediction markets have historically been shown to be highly accurate, sometimes even more so than traditional polls or analysts’ forecasts.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 4th quarter of the Oklahoma St. vs Iowa St. game will be used to determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the threshold established by the market contracts. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data source, will serve as the definitive record for settlement purposes. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their predictions aligned with the actual result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma St. or Iowa St. would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift trader sentiment. Furthermore, any updates on team strategies or offensive/defensive adjustments could lead to changes in the perceived probability of a high- or low-scoring 4th quarter. Even public perception and betting trends observed elsewhere could influence trading activity on Kalshi.
