This market determines which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game between Oklahoma State and Iowa State. It focuses solely on the scoring during the first half, ignoring the final game result. The outcome depends on which team has more points at that specific interval.
The market resolves based on which team is leading at the end of the first half of the Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State college football game scheduled for October 30, 2026. If either Oklahoma State or Iowa State holds the lead after the first half, the respective market for that team will resolve to Yes. If the teams are tied at the end of the first half, the Tie market will resolve to Yes. Postponements are accounted for: if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within that window, the market resolves to a fair price. Points scored only during the first half count toward the outcome.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides and ensure profitability. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and beliefs. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – the prediction market odds can shift more rapidly than sportsbook odds, potentially offering a more up-to-date assessment of the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As traders exchange positions, the prices adjust to reflect new information and changing expectations. The current price indicates what a trader would pay to own a contract that pays out if a specific team wins the first half, or if the game is tied at halftime.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team, Oklahoma St. or Iowa St., has the higher score at the end of the first half, or if the score is tied. The official scorekeeping from the game will be used to determine the winner, and the market will settle accordingly. Any potential overtime periods do not factor into the first-half result.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma St. or Iowa St. would likely cause price movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s style of play, could also shift the odds. Significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks, even if not directly reflected on Kalshi, might influence trader sentiment. Finally, any pre-game analysis or expert opinions suggesting a change in the expected outcome could also lead to shifts in this market.
