This set of markets tracks how many points are scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of a college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to trigger a 'Yes' outcome.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of the Oklahoma St. vs Houston college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), it resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing the two can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the likely outcome, although neither is guaranteed to be perfectly accurate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 3rd quarter total. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market collectively believes is the true probability. This dynamic pricing allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment surrounding the Oklahoma State-Houston game.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official 3rd quarter total of the Oklahoma State versus Houston game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score will be sourced from official game statistics and used to determine whether the market settles above or below the contract price. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout, while those on the losing side will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma State or Houston would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, especially if they impact the style of play, could also shift predictions. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first and second quarters, such as dominant offensive or defensive displays, could lead traders to adjust their expectations for the 3rd quarter total, causing fluctuations in the market price.
