This market tracks which team will score more points in a specific quarter of an upcoming basketball game between Oklahoma City and San Antonio. It focuses solely on performance during the second quarter, ignoring the overall game result. Outcomes include one team winning the quarter or neither team having a clear advantage.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the second quarter of the Oklahoma City vs San Antonio Pro Basketball game scheduled for October 20, 2026. If Oklahoma City scores more points in that quarter, the 'Oklahoma City' market resolves to Yes. If San Antonio scores more points, the 'San Antonio' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie' market resolves to Yes. Only points scored during the second quarter count toward resolution. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game is canceled or does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a ‘wisdom of the crowd’ perspective, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which may be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their own probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that traders believe the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different forms of forecasting, and neither is always perfectly accurate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, either Oklahoma City or San Antonio winning the second quarter. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring; a higher price indicates a higher perceived probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the likely winner. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to create a real-time forecast of the event’s outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team – Oklahoma City or San Antonio – has the higher score at the end of the second quarter of the game. The official game results will be used to determine the winning team, and contracts will be settled accordingly. The platform ensures a transparent and verifiable resolution process, based on publicly available data.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to starting lineups for either Oklahoma City or San Antonio would likely have a significant impact. Game-day reports on player health, coaching decisions, or even early performance in the first quarter could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpectedly strong or weak performances by key players during the game itself will also heavily influence the price, as traders react to the unfolding events and adjust their predictions accordingly.
