This set of markets focuses on predicting the margin of victory for either Ohio or Sacramento State in the first half of their college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point differential threshold that must be exceeded for the outcome to be considered a success.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the first half of the Ohio vs Sacramento State college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For markets where Ohio is the favored team, resolution occurs if Ohio wins the first half by more than the specified point margin (ranging from 2.5 to 23.5 points). Conversely, markets favoring Sacramento State resolve if Sacramento State wins the first half by more than the designated margin (ranging from 2.5 to 14.5 points). If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the official first-half result. Should the game fail to start within this 48-hour window, all markets will resolve at a fair price, taking into account all known information up to that point. No affiliation with the NCAA is implied or claimed in these rules.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will adjust accordingly. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been wagered, as the market attempts to find an efficient price.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the Ohio-Sacramento State 1st half spread. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all participants trading in this market, and changes dynamically as new information becomes available or opinions shift.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official 1st half spread of the Ohio versus Sacramento State game as reported by a major sports data provider. Traders holding contracts on the correct side of the spread will receive a payout of $1 per contract, while those on the incorrect side will receive $0. This market's outcome is determined by the actual result of the game's first half, not by any pre-game predictions or analyses.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Ohio or Sacramento State teams would likely cause movement. Significant changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the style of play, could also shift the market. Additionally, large bets placed by informed traders or shifts in public sentiment, as reflected in other sources like sports news or social media, could all contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
