This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific threshold of receiving touchdowns for either team, determining whether they meet or exceed that number during the match.
All markets resolve based on the official number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Ohio St. vs USC college football game scheduled for Oct 31, 2026, including any touchdowns scored in overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is defined as one scored by the player who caught the pass; if another player recovers a fumble and scores, it does not count as a receiving touchdown, unless the original receiving player recovers their own fumble and scores. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final official result. If the game does not start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly states it is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on their own analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can buy 'yes' contracts, driving up the price and reflecting that collective insight. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts leading up to the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning traders are constantly buying and selling contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the Ohio State vs USC game.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on official game statistics documenting which teams had players successfully receive touchdowns during the Ohio State vs USC game. The final score and official game logs will serve as the basis for determining whether the 'yes' or 'no' outcome prevails in this market. The process ensures a transparent and objective determination of the result.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. News regarding key player injuries on either the Ohio State or USC teams would likely have a significant impact, as would any major changes in coaching strategies or team performance during the season. Unexpected weather forecasts for the game day could also shift expectations. Furthermore, any public statements from analysts or experts offering strong opinions about which team is favored to score touchdowns could sway traders and move the market.
