This market assesses how many points Ohio State and USC will score together in the third quarter of their college football game. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed various thresholds, offering different levels of difficulty for forecasting the game's intensity in that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of the Ohio St. vs USC college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined third-quarter points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines which can be influenced by factors like public bias or early betting action. Sportsbooks set lines to balance betting action, while this market allows traders to express their true beliefs about the likelihood of different outcomes. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook odds as new information becomes available, and as traders adjust their positions based on analysis and insights. Examining the difference can reveal where the crowd disagrees with professional oddsmakers.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the 3rd quarter total will be over or under the implied line. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price tends to converge towards a consensus view of the likely outcome. The current price reflects the collective expectation of all participants on Kalshi.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total points scored in the 3rd quarter of the Ohio State vs USC game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by the governing sports organization. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances on Kalshi once the resolution is complete. This allows for a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Ohio State or USC would likely cause significant movement, as would updates on weather conditions that could affect scoring. Changes in betting trends at sportsbooks, even if not directly reflected in the odds, can sometimes influence trader sentiment. Furthermore, any significant in-game developments during the first half of the game could lead to adjustments in expectations for the 3rd quarter total, and therefore impact the price on Kalshi.
