This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the second half of an upcoming college football game between Ohio State and USC. It specifically evaluates performance from halftime onward, including any overtime periods, to declare a winner for that segment of play.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second half (including overtime) of the Ohio State vs USC college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. If USC scores more second-half points, the USC market resolves to Yes. If Ohio State scores more second-half points, the Ohio State market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points in the second half, the Tie market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the second half and overtime count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likely outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously buying and selling contracts on Kalshi and at a sportsbook. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees the actual result.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating greater perceived likelihood. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions as the event approaches. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate assessments, as profitable trading relies on correctly forecasting the outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning team of the second half of the Ohio State vs USC game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Ohio State or USC teams would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also move the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions, as well as significant shifts in public sentiment, could all contribute to price movement in this market leading up to Nov 1, 2026.
