This set of markets focuses on predicting the total points scored by both teams combined in the second half of an upcoming college football game. Bettors can choose from various thresholds to speculate on whether the combined scoring will exceed specific point totals.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Ohio St. vs USC college football game scheduled for Oct 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the stated threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets like Kalshi often reflect information not immediately captured by traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on team statistics and expert analysis, this market incorporates a broader range of factors as traders buy and sell contracts. This can include news about player injuries, weather conditions, or even subtle shifts in public sentiment. It’s common to see prediction market prices move *before* sportsbook odds adjust, potentially offering an edge to informed participants. However, sportsbook odds remain a valuable benchmark for comparison.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders submit buy and sell orders for contracts, and the price fluctuates based on supply and demand. A higher price indicates greater confidence that the total points scored in the second half will be *above* that number, while a lower price suggests the opposite. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the probability that the event will occur, as perceived by the collective intelligence of the traders on the platform. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the second half of the Ohio State vs USC game will be used to determine whether contracts predicting 'over' or 'under' a certain threshold pay out. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data provider, will serve as the definitive record. Traders holding contracts on the correct side will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Ohio State or USC would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also move the market. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team morale might also influence trader behavior. Finally, significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could create arbitrage opportunities, leading to adjustments in the price on Kalshi as traders seek to capitalize on discrepancies.
