These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Ohio State and Iowa. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that period. The outcomes depend solely on the game's 4th quarter performance, excluding any overtime scoring.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Ohio St. vs Iowa college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined 4th quarter points exceed the specified threshold for each market (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points). If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the 4th quarter count; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what is readily available to traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk assessment, this market allows a broader range of participants to express their beliefs about the likely outcome of the 4th quarter total. It’s common to see differences emerge, particularly as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts, and these differences can sometimes signal potential value for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total in the Ohio State vs Iowa game. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded, and inaccurate ones are penalized. This dynamic process aims to converge the market price towards the true probability of the event.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the Ohio State vs Iowa game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will be used to determine which contracts payout, and at what value. Traders holding contracts predicting the correct total will receive a payout based on the contract's price at the time of resolution, while those predicting an incorrect total will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any significant news regarding player injuries to key offensive players on either the Ohio State or Iowa teams would likely cause movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Finally, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could also shift expectations and cause the price of contracts to fluctuate.
