All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the Ohio St. vs Iowa college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold, and if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to balance their risk, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market. It's common to see prediction market odds move more quickly to incorporate new information than sportsbook odds, especially as the event draws nearer.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 3rd quarter of the Ohio State vs Iowa game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, and the market will settle to 100 for the winning side (over or under 12.5 points) and 0 for the losing side. The final score will be sourced from official sports data providers to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Ohio State or Iowa teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect the passing or running game, could also shift predictions. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first and second quarters, especially if one team establishes a dominant lead, could lead to adjustments in the perceived probability of the 3rd quarter total exceeding 12.5 points.
