This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points, allowing participants to speculate on the scoring intensity of that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the second quarter of the Ohio St. vs Iowa college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-quarter points exceed the stated threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Postponements are accounted for—if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, it resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the second quarter count toward resolution.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines due to the continuous flow of information and diverse perspectives of traders. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on their own analysis, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome by buying or selling contracts. Over time, the prices in this market can converge with or diverge from sportsbook odds as new information becomes available and public sentiment shifts. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities than traditional polls or analysts.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 2nd quarter of the Ohio State vs Iowa game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded 12.5. All contracts will then be settled based on this verified result. The market's resolution is independent of any subjective interpretation and relies on objective data from the game itself.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either the Ohio State or Iowa teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also move the market. Additionally, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by expert analysis or pre-game commentary, could influence trading activity and therefore the price. The closer we get to Oct 3, 2026, the more sensitive this market will become to new information.
