These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored by both teams combined in the second half of an upcoming college football game. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (including overtime) of the Ohio St. vs Iowa college football game scheduled for Oct 3, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 6.5, 9.5 points, etc.), that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of informed traders, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that prediction market traders possess information or insights not fully incorporated into the sportsbook lines. It’s common to see convergence as the event approaches, but divergences can present opportunities for informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous trading, where participants buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the second-half total will be over or under a certain point. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as assessed by the traders. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand; more buyers drive the price up, indicating a higher perceived probability, while more sellers drive it down. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to aggregate information and generate a forecast.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Ohio State versus Iowa football game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of the market’s threshold. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and verifiable result. Traders will then be paid out based on their positions in the market at the time of resolution.
Several signals could influence this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Ohio State or Iowa would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Additionally, late-breaking information about team strategies or coaching decisions might shift traders’ expectations. Finally, general public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators can contribute to shifts in the price of contracts in this market.
