This set of markets tracks various scoring thresholds for the first half of an upcoming college football game. Each threshold represents a different level of combined points that the two teams might achieve before halftime. The outcomes depend solely on the actual points scored during that specific half of play.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first half of the Ohio St. vs Indiana college football game scheduled for Oct 17, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored in the first half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result of that game. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market aggregates diverse opinions, potentially identifying mispriced probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it might indicate differing beliefs about the likelihood of a particular outcome. However, as game time approaches, these odds tend to converge as new information becomes available and both markets react to the latest developments.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of the first half total being over or under a certain point. The price of a contract directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic market price that reflects the collective intelligence of participants. This differs from traditional betting, where odds are set by a bookmaker.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official first half total from the Ohio State vs Indiana game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as recorded by official game statistics, will determine whether the 'yes' or 'no' outcome prevails. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the official score is released. It’s important to monitor the game’s progress leading up to halftime.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries to either the Ohio State or Indiana teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Even public perception shifts, driven by expert analysis or social media buzz, can influence trader sentiment and alter the price of contracts in this market. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential shifts in probability.
