Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as an event approaches. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows for more direct peer-to-peer betting. However, initial odds on Polymarket may differ from those found at sportsbooks due to varying levels of information and differing participant biases. It's common to see convergence as the event nears and more information becomes available, but discrepancies can still occur.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing each possible exact score, and the price of each share reflects the market's probability assessment of that outcome. As more shares are traded, the prices adjust, providing a dynamic representation of collective belief. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a particular score is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price, and vice versa. This creates a market-driven probability estimate for the final result.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final exact score of the OGC Nice versus Stade Rennais FC 1901 match will be used to determine the winning share(s). Resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score will be entitled to a payout based on the market’s pricing at the time of resolution. The platform will verify the result and distribute funds accordingly.
