Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely express their beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. If a significant number of traders believe one team is more likely to score, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially diverging from sportsbook offerings. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust, reflecting the collective prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or other prediction venues.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the OFI Crete vs. PAOK Thessaloniki match. The official match records will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome, ensuring a transparent and verifiable result. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the resolution is finalized on Polymarket.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either OFI Crete or PAOK Thessaloniki would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form based on recent match results, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also shift trader sentiment. Any significant information impacting the perceived likelihood of either team scoring first has the potential to move this market considerably before Oct 25, 2026.
