This market focuses on whether Mississippi State can win both the first half and the entire game against Alabama, or if Alabama can win the first half but lose the full match, creating unique betting opportunities based on game momentum shifts.
The market resolves based on the combination of the first half and full game results, including overtime. For a market to resolve to Yes, both the first half and full game results must match the market's specified conditions. If either result does not match, the market resolves to No. If the game is postponed but begins within 48 hours of the original start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official final result. If the game is not started within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – the prediction market may adjust more quickly than traditional sportsbooks. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs, as the market seeks to establish a consensus view on the outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring – in this case, either Notre Dame or North Carolina scoring the first touchdown. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading volume influence how quickly prices respond to new information and shifts in sentiment.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team scored the first touchdown in the Notre Dame vs North Carolina game. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and play-by-play data, ensuring an objective and accurate determination of the winning outcome. Traders will be able to see the final result and the payout of their contracts following the game's conclusion.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Notre Dame or North Carolina would likely cause a shift in probabilities. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also influence the market. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also lead to price movements. Finally, any significant public sentiment shifts, perhaps driven by expert analysis or media coverage, could impact trading activity and alter the market’s prediction.
