This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football matchup, focusing specifically on the fourth quarter performance without including overtime scores. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the fourth quarter (excluding overtime) of the Notre Dame vs North Carolina college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. Each market has a specific numerical threshold; if the combined fourth-quarter points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the fourth quarter count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own analysis and aim to balance their risk, while this market reflects the collective predictions of individuals trading contracts. If there’s a significant difference, it might indicate that market participants have information or insights that sportsbooks haven’t fully incorporated into their odds. It's common to see some initial discrepancies, which tend to narrow as more information becomes available and trading volume increases.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning buyers and sellers set the price by placing bids and asks. The current price represents the probability of a particular outcome – in this case, the total points scored in the 4th quarter falling within a specific range. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price will fluctuate to reflect the evolving consensus. The market depth shows the volume available at different price points, giving you an idea of how easily you can buy or sell contracts.
This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the Notre Dame vs North Carolina game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will be compared to the ranges offered in the market to determine which contracts will pay out, and at what value.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Notre Dame or North Carolina would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable for high or low scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, as the game approaches, any shifts in public perception or expert analysis regarding the teams' offensive and defensive capabilities could lead to increased trading activity and price adjustments. Game day developments, such as early scoring drives, will also have an immediate effect.
