This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in a specific college football game. Each market corresponds to a different scoring threshold for each team, determining whether they exceed that threshold.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals from the Notre Dame vs Navy college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores over the designated point threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring impartiality and fairness regardless of unforeseen scheduling changes.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of a decentralized exchange. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information, potentially offering value to informed traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of Notre Dame or Navy exceeding a specific point total. As more traders buy a contract, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the market’s collective assessment of the likelihood of that outcome occurring, and it’s constantly updated based on supply and demand.
This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final team totals for both Notre Dame and Navy will be used to determine which contracts settle at $1.00 (winning contracts) and which settle at $0.00 (losing contracts). The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Notre Dame or Navy would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to high or low scoring, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could shift market sentiment. Public perception, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also play a role in shaping the direction of this market.
