Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their money behind their beliefs. As a result, you may find that the implied probabilities in this market differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks, particularly as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities, especially closer to the event.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, ultimately reflecting the collective prediction of the crowd. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that if more people believe Northwestern will win, the price of contracts predicting a Northwestern victory will increase, and vice versa. The current price represents the probability that traders assign to each outcome, making it a dynamic and informative indicator.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
