This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Northwestern and Michigan State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Northwestern vs Michigan State college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play count; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, it might indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced a particular outcome. It's common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, especially regarding late-breaking news or changes in team conditions.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where buyers and sellers set the price of contracts. Each contract represents a prediction about the 4th quarter total points in the Northwestern vs Michigan State game. As more people buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price of those contracts increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the probability that traders assign to that outcome occurring, and it’s constantly updated based on supply and demand.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the 4th quarter of the Northwestern vs Michigan State game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The total points scored will be sourced from official game statistics and verified against reliable sports news outlets. Traders holding contracts that correctly predict the total points will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Northwestern or Michigan State would likely cause significant movement. Unexpected changes in weather conditions, particularly if they impact the passing game, could also shift the market. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could also play a role. Finally, as the game approaches, public betting patterns and analysis from sports commentators may influence trader behavior and cause the price to fluctuate.
