Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from the sportsbook's initial assessment. Comparing the probabilities implied by both can be a valuable exercise for informed decision-making, though this market represents the aggregated forecasts of participants on Polymarket.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible exact score. As more shares are traded for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their chosen outcome eventuates. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the North East United FC vs. Mohun Bagan Super Giant match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The official result, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the basis for settlement. Traders will be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the verified final score. The market will close prior to the event's completion to prevent manipulation.
