This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both North Carolina and Pittsburgh in the first quarter of their college football game. Each market corresponds to a different threshold of points, allowing participants to speculate on how high-scoring the opening quarter will be.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the North Carolina vs Pittsburgh college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each individual market has a specific point threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points); if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes, otherwise No. Points from any overtime periods within the first quarter count toward the total. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original scheduled start time, all markets remain active and resolve according to the actual first-quarter result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets will resolve to a fair price, taking into account all available information up to that point. No affiliation or endorsement by the NCAA is implied, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring. For example, a contract priced at 60 means there’s a 60% implied probability of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and information, leading to price discovery. The market price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time forecast of the event’s outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The total points scored in the first quarter of the North Carolina vs Pittsburgh game will be used to determine whether the ‘Over’ or ‘Under’ contract wins. The official scorekeeping from the game will serve as the source for verifying the final result. Traders will be able to claim their winnings or cover their losses following the official confirmation of the game’s first quarter score.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the North Carolina or Pittsburgh teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect scoring, could also move the market. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might cause traders to reassess their probabilities. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can contribute to shifts in the market price before Oct 10, 2026.
