Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from sportsbook odds, which are set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks often incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may emerge, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to remember that both represent different perspectives on the likelihood of various outcomes for this event. Keep an eye on how the market evolves as more information becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores, and the price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about that outcome's probability. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to find an equilibrium point. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is influenced by various factors, including news, team form, and expert analysis. The more shares traded for a particular exact score, the higher the price will climb, indicating increased confidence in that outcome.
