Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their view. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly deviates from the sportsbook's initial assessment. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information and insights that sportsbooks may not immediately factor in, resulting in a different probability assessment for the event’s outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts dynamically, reflecting the evolving consensus. The current price indicates the market's collective expectation, and you can observe the price history to understand how sentiment has changed leading up to the event.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the National League hockey match between Davos and Kloten Flyers, as reported by official league sources. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome. Traders who hold shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at the time of resolution.
